Based on Comelec Resolution 9476 Governor Emilio Ramon (ER)Ejercito was disqualified for this last election for overspending during the last election. According to Comelec the said governor spent 6 million pesos for Television Ads alone. He was only allowed to spend 4.5 million based on the voting population of the province of Laguna.
Governor ER has five days to submit a motion for consideration. The Comelec en banc will decide for its finality. If decision is for disqualification, the encumbent Vice Governor Ramil Hernandez will be the new governor.
