Blessing of Throat
Today is the feast of St. Blaise and first Friday of the month of February. A mass is held for the high school students of Sta. Maria Academy. A holy Hour was celebrated with solemnity before the afternoon Mass. The Apostleship of prayer is an organization that leads the people in contemplation to the Sacred Body of our Lord during this one hour of meditation and confession. Our regular mass took us for about two hours and a half. Included here is a prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and anointing of oil to the People of God. Since it is the feast of St. Blaise, the blessing of throat is also included. Many people have attended the celebration and no extraordinary lay ministers in sight. On this day we pray with the words “Through the intercession of St. Blaise, bishop and martyr, deliver us from all the sickness of the throat and from other illness in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. AMEN".
