Early this morning, one of my parishioners immediately approached me right after mass announcing that she has taken hold of the new Philippine banknotes of twenty and fifty pesos denomination. She gave me the new 20 pesos as a remembrance. I told her that let us wait because it will surely be circulated. She just shrug her shoulder saying that she want to take hold of the new banknotes ahead of others.
The new banknotes was redesigned to defer anyone of making fake Philippine currency.Central bank executives vouch for a more security features. The design includes a younger look for men and women featured in the currency. Historical and beautiful places as well as animals uniquely present only to the country are also added.
Hopefully, this new notes will also heighten our nationalism and boost the image of the Filipino spirit.
