Tuesday of the First Week In Ordinary (January 11, 2011)

First reading (Heb 2:5-12)
Responsorial Psalm (Ps 8:2ab and 5, 6-7, 8-9)
Gospel (Mk 1:21-28)

Jesus taught with authority. Jesus taught many things on the occasion of his public ministry. What make him stand out is that he taught with authority. His speaks with authority because people see that what he preach becomes a reality.

There are also people who are in authority and uses their authority to enriched themselves and for their own personal gains. They are in authority but they do not speak with authority. they abuse their authority.

Whether we are holding any position or not, we should speak with authority. Like Jesus, let us speak with authority. let our words become reality and speak only of what is real.

just recently, I remember, a news item about a man who give back a diamond bracelet he found on the street worth millions of dollars. When asked, why did he returned it. He responded that he wants to be a living examples to his children. This man surely speaks with authority.
