The second division of the Supreme Court has issued last June 29 a temporary restraining order on the procurement, sale, distribution, dispensation or administration of reproductive products and supplies, including contraceptive drugs and devices specifically of Implanon and Implanon NXT products to the Department of Health.
This TRO was granted due to the petition of the Alliance of the Family Foundation Philippines or ALFI. The ALFI believes that these products have abortifacient side effects. The Catholic Churchs holds the importance and dignity of human person at the beginning of the meeting of the egg and sperm cells.
