TRO against the distribution of contraceptive products.

Image
The second division of the Supreme Court has issued last June 29 a temporary restraining order on the procurement, sale, distribution, dispensation or administration of reproductive products and supplies, including contraceptive drugs and devices specifically of Implanon and Implanon NXT products  to the Department of Health. This TRO was granted due to the petition of the Alliance of the Family Foundation Philippines or ALFI. The ALFI believes that these products have abortifacient  side effects. The Catholic Churchs holds the importance and dignity of human person at the beginning of the meeting of the egg and sperm cells.

Supreme Court Decision on RH Law.

Image
The Catholic Church has lost the war on Reproductive Health (RH) Law today in the Philippine situation. The Supreme Court  had ruled out that the RH law is constitutional except some provisions that were struck out. Most of the provisions were struck down  concern more on religious liberty rather than on the protection of life nor on the artificial birth control. Personally, I am not surprise of the outcome of the decision due to the fact that we have have really failed to educate the faithful concerning this matter. We could no longer do anything about the past, we have to open a new chapter in our quest of protecting life and to create a more effective program for family and life ministry. What is more important is that we fight a legal battle on this issue, though we may not won this court battle, it has teached us a tremendous lesson that we have to learn also how the world around us operates so that we can addressed the matter in the language that wo...

Image

Image
( Isang muling pagpapaskil ng pormal na pahayag ng Kapulungan ng mga Katolikong  mga Obispo sa Pilipinas (KKOP)o Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines ( CBCP).)  Statement on RH Bill Every birth is a gift from God; every new life, a blessing, every birth a cause for rejoicing and praising God who create new life only out of love. Our country’s positive birth rate and a population composed of mostly young people are the main players that fuel the economy. A fact that even the government itself acknowledges as it is determined to feed, educate and keep the young people healthy. And rightly so, for even our Constitution acknowledges that human resource is a primary source of social and economic force. Earlier this year, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas reported that the hard-earned salaries of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) that were sent to their families for the first 11 months last year amounted to $18.3 billion, which is 7.3 percent ...

Kailangan Ba natin ang RH Bill Poll

Image
Get your own Poll!

CBCP: Church stand against RH bill remains

Image
MANILA, March 8, 2012—Amid calls for debates after the Manila Archbishop opened renewed opportunities for dialogue on the reproductive health (RH) bill, the newly appointed leader of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) reiterated that the stand of the Church remains the same. “If the RH proponents expect that we in the new administration, because we are new, would be amenable to changes, it is a no,” CBCP President Archbishop Jose Palma said. “Their presumption may be like if there is a new admin they think there can be a new policy, have new doctrines and approaches. This is not the case in the Church. We don’t expect the new members of any council to be changing doctrines.” The prelate also pointed out the need for more plenary debates amid calls of RH proponents to put the bill to a vote. “Kapag humaba debate mas maraming natututunan at nakikita ang katotohanan about the Church doctrine, kaya ‘yung iba natatakot na kapag humaba ang debate,” Palma explaine...
