For the Diocesan Health Minisry

As part of my promise to help propagate the Catholic faith in my little way, I ask Dr. Cynthia Sanchez who is presently the head of the Diocesan Health Ministry to post the activities and the communications of the said commission for a more news mileage of the aspirations and activities for a more active participation and a broad information of the ways to participate in the building of the Kingdom of God in particular for health related issues.

Dear Bishop Famadico,




Happy Easter Tuesday! I would like to seek your advise regarding the direction of the Commission on Health of the Diocese. For now, I have two things in mind for 2015:

1. Roll out of the PTB program

2. Implementation of the annual medical of the clergy




Much as I would like to do more, completing the above mentioned I think would suffice for a start in re activating the Health Commission. We are currently moving towards the roll out of the PTB program in the parishes that were represented during the Splash Mt TB Case Finding and Referral System Seminar last Feb. The parish of Fr. Jessie Somosiera has scheduled their seminar to the barangay church workers on April 9 and ours in the San Pablo Cathedral under Fr Jerry Gaela on April 25. Funding which covers food allowance for the whole day seminar amounting to P9,000 / parish will be provided for by USAID thru IMPACT and will be coursed directly to the different parishes. We will be giving you updates on the said program.




About the annual medical clergy, I would like to know if you are still interested to have this project pushed thru since there was no follow up of the 1st meeting held in 2014 re this matter. I suggest we work this out to give equal opportunities to all priests to avail of a preventive health program particularly those assigned in remote localities and those who are not as health conscious compared to a few who are able to avail of regular tests. May I request for a follow up meeting if you want to carry on with the program.




May I also reiterate my request for Commission on Health priest coordinators for the remaining district 3 and 4. These are my thoughts for now, please advise and I will welcome other suggestions or if you have other things that you would like us to do. I will wait for your reply.
