CBCP’s statement on the US Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage

In reaction to the new ruling of the United States Supreme Court on marriage equality or same sex marriage. The US Supreme Court was asked whether banning same-sex marriages was in accord with the Constitution. It has recently ruled that such a ban is unconstitutional. That is the gist as well as the significance of the ruling of the US Supreme Court. Its reference is the US Constitution. Fortunately for human persons, there is so much more to us and to our dignity than what the law prescribes. While human positive law is the distillation of human experience of orderly and organized life, it does not exhaust human wisdom, nor does it have room for the wisdom of which God makes us participants. Redefining Legal Marriage

Last Friday's decision of the Supreme Court of the united States of America have shock the world for the acceptance of the same sex marriage. Joy for those are in line with the acceptance of its legality and disappointment for those who oppose it. We are in the Philippines, we are not in America, we should not be bothered about it, voices that we may hear from others about it. Or should we be wary because it will greatly affect us because we usually follow the american trend in some aspect of our life, and maybe in general aspect of our life. life is constantly evolving and we are to be ready to face realities about it including those of whom we are not liking  and even to the wildest imaginations have not visited us at all. Our faith in Jesus have taught us on this as he confront the sinners and the Pharisees. There are a lot of posts and reaction concerning this matter, however, we have to understand why the supreme court justices have opted to  passed the law...

Accidents do happen!

Going home from Siniloan, Laguna after attending the concelebrated Mass headed by Bishop Buenaventura Famadico in Honor of St. Paul and St. Peter my tire burst out. it was evening already when cruising the South Luzon Express Way ( SLEX), I heard a sound at the back of the car or I have hit something with my tire, I was in the inner lane. I ask my companion Sem. Paulo Fugaban if he heard about it and if he had something unusual and just uttered none when I Heard that my Flat burst out and I am running flat min the inner lane of the express way. I have to get on the outer lane to fix it but the cars are coming pass through. Fixing the flat tire comes with difficulty first as it was the first time that i have encountered this problem in SLEX. Coming also to a realization that I have also to master the way to unload the spare tire in Innova. I has a special way in storing it in its compartment. on the same way I need a new car, the car jack is not damage but the accessories that go...

Praying for those abroad.

Prayer of an Overseas Worker Father God, it’s so lonely out here. Many times I’ve asked myself why I had to go here in the first place, and why I can’t go back yet to where my heart truly is, where my true happiness resides. Why must I walk these streets alone? Why must I eat this bread without my family? Many sights have so amazed me since I got here and yet no beauty has ever succeeded in wiping away the tears from my eyes. For without my loved ones, what can all these things mean to me? I’d rather be blind, I’d rather tire myself to sleep so I won’t have time to remember, to cry, to long so painfully for the people I love so much. Help me O God. Give me strength to bear such a terrible longing. Give me hope so that the vision of your blessings for my loved ones always be before me. Give me faith so I can cling on that hope on my darkest and loneliest days. Let me never forget the reason why I came here for. Let me never forget who I am and to whom I really belong....

Father's day 2015

Several civil celebrations of the state of life sometimes becomes commercialized but there is no harm of praying for them. The CBCP through the Episcopal Commission on Liturgy inserted a reminder last Sunday, June 14, to pray for all the fathers. being faithful to it I prayed the prayer suggested by the ORDO on the anticipated Mass. After praying, one of the fathers told me that the celebration is this coming Sunday not this Sunday, When the Mass has concluded, I searched the internet and come to realization that yes Father's Day falls on the third Sunday of June. Wee, there is no harm in praying again for them this coming Sunday. I am also posting here the prayer for the Father's Day. We thank god for our fathers who like our Father in heaven constantly love and protect us. May they really guide us and lead us into the way towards our God the Father.
