GOSPEL REFLECTION: 18th Sunday In Ordinary Time (B) Sunday, 2nd August 2015 by Rev. Fr. Allen Baclor Abadines READINGS: First Reading: Exodus 16:2-4,12-15,31a Resposorial Psalm: The Lord gave them the bread of heaven. Second Reading: Ephesians 4:17,20-24 GOSPEL : John 6:24-35 When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were at the place where Jesus had given the bread, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum looking for Jesus. When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, "Rabbi, when did you come here?" Jesus answered them, "Very truly, I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal." Then they said to Jesus, "What must we do to perform the works of ...

Catholic Resources

Image
One of the many projects I have started and was not been able to finish is the Catholic Resources Site. I have forgotten it already, thanks for the widget I created that reminded me of such an unfinished endeavour. The site was totally been useless because I used third party application that wrecked my whole blogspot, neoworks. Neoworks used javascript that messed with my blog. Because of this long duration of inactivity, I almost forgot my username and password. I have to put some backup options which google provides. Thanks for google for this extra security measure and a way for recover one's important information and work. Blog post log reminds me that the blogs started October of 2012 until November of the same year. one of the reason for the demise of the attention is the general reshuffle of assignments last January of 2013. I have to change the template and the layout to get rid of the nuisances no photo clutter of the whole blog. For the moment...

Von Voyage

Armine Isles Borja just visited me to ask prayer for his travel tomorrow going to Saudi Arabia tomorrow. He is leaving his work here as well as his wife and two children to look for a greener pasture. Since he could find more money there abroad more than what he is earning here in the Philippines. The Church believes that is more beneficial for the family to stay together here in the Philippines but financial opportunities could not be found. The Church provides prayer and support group for those leaving the country. the parish in particular will be affected by Amine's leaving the country as he holds the leadership of the music ministry. We pray that his time for leaving his family for work will be more profitable and may strengthen the faith of his family. Image
A warning sign has plugged on my Blogsite saying that the widget was been disabled but checking upon the site of the Ustream, I found out that there are some update and offers several options such as the standalone player I have installed on my Blogsite player and social and video gallery widgets, it seems that the end users have a lot of options and the publishers have a lot of tools to play with. the last option is open only for the enterprise plan. Not all sites are compatible with your preferred browser.

Image
Sometimes you may wonder if your computer is screwing you out or simply your browser is not working with the site you are visiting. I have tried to see if my preferred browser which happened to be chrome is outdated, but it turns out to be negative. My chrome is updated. It turns out that some websites how big might be their company might not be compatible with the browser you use. On this case the website I am visiting cannot be views properly, it could be viewed but not all the functionality can be used properly, by chrome but can be viewed with Firefox and Windows Explorer. Others browser were not tested as of the moment. What I am saying is if a certain site could not be properly seen by a certain browser, try another, it might be an issue of compatibility.

Prayer for INC

Image
CBCP chief asks prayers for INC was the title of the article in the CBCP News . This was the response of Archbishop Socrates Villegas on the call to prayer for the peaceful resolution of the conflict within this denominational church. A very christian act and an example of Christ's summon to love one another. It  garnered positive response to the Netizens knowing that the members of INC are relentless in their attack of Catholic faith and faithful. Practically, I am reminded that truly this is the Christian way, praying for those all people even if they are inimical to you.

Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene

Image
Saint Mary Magdalene according to the fathers of the Church distinguish the three persons, the "sinner" of Luke  7:36-50, the sisters of Martha and Lazarus in  Luke 10:38-42 and John 11 and Mary Magdalen of Luke 8:2. The Latin Fathers believe that they are one person, however, some scholars believe that they are two if not three. What is clear based on the reading the Church uses today for the celebration of this feast is the one who first encountered the Risen Christ in the early hours of the Easter Sunday. Whether he is a sinner or the one Jesus expelled with seven demons or not, I believe will not matter with her after the centuries that elapse that had thought as such. What is important, I believe, is that sinners we may be, we have to come to Jesus to implore His divine mercy and received salvation and like Mary proclaimed to the world God's continuous saving act here and now. Through the invitation of Rev. Fr. Jun Olaso, the parish priest of St....
