The Church announced that from June 19 2009 to June 19 2010 as the year of the Priest. As the year of St. Paul is ended this June, Pope Benedict XVI have proclaimed the year of the priest in connection with the 150th anniversary of the death of the Curé dArs, St. john Mary Vianney, the patron Saint of diocesan priests.
The Diocese of San Pablo announced in in the ordination of Rev. Fr. Alex last June 19 in Calihan, San Pablo City along with the plenary indulgence for those who attended the said celebration.
The universal Church has the theme "Faithfulness of Christ, the Faithfullness of Priests with the Philippine Church with the theme Year of the Two Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Participation to Peace Building.
