Father's day 2015

Image
Several civil celebrations of the state of life sometimes becomes commercialized but there is no harm of praying for them. The CBCP through the Episcopal Commission on Liturgy inserted a reminder last Sunday, June 14, to pray for all the fathers. being faithful to it I prayed the prayer suggested by the ORDO on the anticipated Mass. After praying, one of the fathers told me that the celebration is this coming Sunday not this Sunday, When the Mass has concluded, I searched the internet and come to realization that yes Father's Day falls on the third Sunday of June. Wee, there is no harm in praying again for them this coming Sunday. I am also posting here the prayer for the Father's Day. We thank god for our fathers who like our Father in heaven constantly love and protect us. May they really guide us and lead us into the way towards our God the Father.

Feast of St. Joseph/Labor Day

Today, we celebrates the Feast of St. Joseph, husband of Mary, and the protector of the Holy family. The feats of St. Joseph is being celebrated in the Church Calendar twice. Th other one is every March 19 as the protector of the Church and model of a good father. Today, we reflect more on his being a carpenter, a worker, someone who have been an exemplar of a good laborer and the champion of the causes of labor. Of course, there is no such thing as labor issues of today during the time of St. Joseph. However, we look on St. Joseph as the one who could be an image of which the rights of laborer could be protected. One of the most powerful description of this man is a " just man ". An Honor bestowed to him by the Church As we honor, St. Joseph, the patron of workers may we be like him a just man, both as worker and as employer. One of my barrios, Puypuy celebrates its fiesta today in Honor of Sto. Nino. Though, the church celebrates today the feast of St. Joseph, there are cer...

Opening Prayer

Image
Atty. Roberto C. Abejero, regional director of region IV DilG. we have some conversation before the annual report of the Mayor. Since election is near, a lot of public officials came, from the governor to the municipal councilors. They invited me for an opening prayer. Even though they have invited other sects to hold a doxology, I complied, since I have to be present for the catholic electorate. When I entered the municipal plaza wherein the celebration is being held, I noticed that they were amazed at my presence. I do not know why. During the prayer, I ask the lord for guidance so that our political leaders could really help alleviate our present condition through the help of St. Joseph whose feast day is being celebrated today
