GOSPEL REFLECTION: Solemnity of Christ the King (A) 23rd November 2014 by Rev. Fr. Allen Baclor Abadines  * GOSPEL: Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus said to his disciples: "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the Angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will put the sheep at his right hand and the goats at the left. "Then the King will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when was it that ...

Prayer to Saint Benedict

Image
Glorious St. Benedict, sublime model of virtue, pure vessel of God's grace! Behold me humbly kneeling at your feet. I implore you in your loving kindness to pray for me before the throne Of God. To you I have recourse in the dangers that daily surround me. Shield me against my selfishness and my indifference to God and to my neighbor. Inspire me to imitate you in all things. May your blessing be with me always, so that I may see and serve Christ in others and work for His kingdom. Graciously obtain for me from God those favors and graces which I need so much in the trials, miseries and afflictions of life. Your heart was always full of love, compassion and mercy toward those who were afflicted or troubled in any way. You never dismissed without consolation and assistance anyone who had recourse to you. I therefore invoke your powerful intercession, confident in the hope that you will hear my prayer and obtain for me the special grace and favor I earnestly implore (name...

I am deeply sorry and ask for your forgiveness.

Image/Inquirer I supposed to write this yesterday, but since I have no Internet connection for two days straight. Though for a whole month there is a static connection and disconnection of internet as I have detailed in my blog posts Why PLDT DSL having problems? and yesterday's post's Internet Connection . Yes, I could have written it to a note and transfer it later here on the Internet. I have done for several times and I cannot remember how many times I did that but well when I transcribe what i have written before i cannot help but made a lot of adjustments and rewriting. It is worse than making a new paper. Just like making two paper in the same subject with different perspective and sometimes with the almost the same perspective. I stopped that practice and go directly to the point. This is regarding on the viral video that proliferated first in the social media specifically on internet called Facebook about a priest who berated a mother out of wedlock wh...

MANILA, Jan. 15, 2012—The Church urges the lay faithful to remember and pray for the victims of child labor, pornography, pedophile and out of school youth in today’s feast of the Sto. Niño. More than just bringing images of Sto. Nino in procession, offering to it flowers and clothing it arbitrarily, people should also try to manifest their devotion to the Holy Child Jesus by giving attention to the children who are suffering from different realities of abuse, injustice and oppression. Fr. Conegundo Garganta of the Episcopal Commission on Youth said Jesus’ life as a child reminds the faithful “of the powerlessness of a child and brings to mind the humility of God when he allowed himself to be at the care of man.” Garganta said children who are physically challenged, working at an early age, being abused by adults and were deprived of their right to a decent life should be remembered by those who are fortunate not to have experienced what they did. “We should not only rememb...
