Ang pamantayan ng Simbahang Katolika sangayon sa turo ng ating panginoong Hesukristo  tungkol sa ikalimang utos na Huwag kang papatay ay makabase sa pangunahaning pamantayan hindi lamang ng Simbahang Katolika Romana kundi sa pangunahing karapatang pantao na nagpapahayag sa pagpapahalaga sa buhay ng tao. Isang biyaya na ipinagkaloob ng Diyos ay ang buhay na ipinagkaloob ng tao na nagpapahalaga sa buhay mula sa sinapupunan ng Ina sa pinakamaaga nitong katatayuan sa panahon ng paglilihi hanggang sa huling sandali ng kanyang hininga sa lahat ng pagkakataon maliban lamang bilang pagtatangol sa buhay, Kaya nga anu mang uri ng pag dungis sa pagpapahalaga sa buhay sa taliwas sa ika limang utos ng Diyos kasama na rito ang abortifacient, aborsyon, homicide, murder, death penalty, extra-judicial killing at mercy killing, Isang banal na tungkulin ng isang kristiyano na ipagtanggol ang buhay at gawin ang lahat upang maiwasan ito sa anu mang pamamaraan sang ayon sa turo ng ating Panginoong Hes...

Joint Statement Mindanao Week of Peace 2011 Theme: "Common Word between Us and You: Love of God, Love of Neighbor" This is the theme of the 2011 Mindanao Week of Peace Celebration. This is the title of the historic and significant Letter of 138 Muslim scholars of the world to Pope Benedict XVI and the religious leaders of the Christian Churches worldwide. Christian and Muslim believes are called People of the Book the contents of which are believed to have revealed by God/Allah Himself. Because of this divine revelation, they have a common origin and a common destiny which they can only be achieved through a life based on "Love of God and Love of Neighbor", a core commandment to know and to obey. The conflicts, wars and animosities among and between Christians and Muslims in the global society today can be traced to the wrong understanding and/or violation of this commandment.
