No to Death Penalty

Image
Some people wonder how could a three fourths of the honorable members of the Philippine Congress has voted for yes to reinstate the death penalty in our country. A move that is exactly and blatantly contrary to our Christian belief on the sanctity of life and inalienable right to life. And it is sad to say that this is the indicative of the prevailing belief of the Filipino Catholics because I have heard from not only one member of the lower house representative that a survey was been circulated to the assigned congressional district to feel the pulse of the people under his or her constituency. And the result of the survey is for death penalty with a wide m...

Solo Parents Welfare Act

Image
Solo Parents Welfare Act, have you heard of it? Thanks to Ms. Zena Bernardo who was been active for a long period of time for the  welfare of the Solo parents that has become a part of the law of the country even on the Year 2000 signed by then President Joseph Ejercito Estrada.. It was been a long time since I heard from Zena this before but I was been alarmed when she posted on Facebook on a propose activity for Teen Solo Parents. It has struck me that, hey there is also a part of our society that we must also see and take care of. Primarily it let me pause for a moment to ask these questions: Is there any solo parent in my parish? How many are they? What are the age bracket? How could you categorized the teen solo parent?. What are the circumstances of their situations of becoming solo parents? Browsing the internet, I found out a copy of the said Solo Parent Welfare Act of  2000. If you find some difficulty in browsing  the Solo Parent Welfare Act ...

Who owns the Roman Catholic Blogspot Dot Com?

Image
Filipino Catholicism It is only now that I have discovered this great blog, Filipino catholicism , but unfortunately I cannot find the author. Preferable and most accurately belongs to the clergy as the information that derives from the post. it is not only that i can't  find the author but also the author stopped blogging since the year 2014. we really do not know the reason because. there are a lot reasons under the sun for the discontinuance of the said activity. There might be some time that I have stopped blogging for a year not because I have run out of subject matter. There are too many subject matters to be discussed but there are time that you do not feel to write. it is easier to speak than to write. maybe there are time that I let my homilies in my videos as a replacement for my blog. It is of different nature and platforms. They cater different audience. Well if somebody has the knowledge of the blogger of the said blog, be kind enough to comment on this site. ...

Pinoyblogosphere dot com

Image
As I cleaning up my blog of some links that are no longer active as this moment, noticed that pinoyblogosphere is one of them. The last Facebook entry is 2009. It was created November 2004, the last update of the domain name was last 2013 that has expired last year. So the domain name is free for grab, I believe. It is one of the pioneering work to establish link within the Filipino Community. I hope there are others who replace it or at least substituted it in the blogosphere.

Katesismo Para sa Pilipinong Katoliko Blog

Image
Katesismo para sa Katolikong Pilipino is the Filipino version of the Catechism of the Catholic Church which I have started as project to put in the Internet since 2009. My fault was that I used one of the third party plugin that ruined my whole blog, neoworx-blog-tools.net. One of the mistake of using third party application because I do not have the money to get a paid counter, or I chose poorly on what application to use that will not sabotage my whole work. Well, what we can do for those whom we cannot control. Praying that these people using Internet will not put those who trusted them or their system to freeze whenever their work or their company crashed down. katesismo.blogspot.com as of today is one of the many projects I have started that have been forgotten tha I wish to revive. There will be many revival that will follow. I wonder why God is not answering my prayers for some projects I wish to start, there are a lot of project that were been forgotten that I have t...

Praying for those abroad.

Image
Prayer of an Overseas Worker Father God, it’s so lonely out here. Many times I’ve asked myself why I had to go here in the first place, and why I can’t go back yet to where my heart truly is, where my true happiness resides. Why must I walk these streets alone? Why must I eat this bread without my family? Many sights have so amazed me since I got here and yet no beauty has ever succeeded in wiping away the tears from my eyes. For without my loved ones, what can all these things mean to me? I’d rather be blind, I’d rather tire myself to sleep so I won’t have time to remember, to cry, to long so painfully for the people I love so much. Help me O God. Give me strength to bear such a terrible longing. Give me hope so that the vision of your blessings for my loved ones always be before me. Give me faith so I can cling on that hope on my darkest and loneliest days. Let me never forget the reason why I came here for. Let me never forget who I am and to whom I really belong....

Biblia ng Sambayanang Pilipino

Image
Christian Community Bible in Filipino o Ang Biblia ng Sambayanang Pilipino is here presented.  Filipino.Since there is an outcry of Filipino Bible on the internet, I have taken the liberty of posting here of what can be downloaded  in bibleclaret.org . Though it will give the same effect but I believe that it would be better to be posted here rather than be downloaded. It will require more time for the user if it will be downloaded and more user friendly if it is posted. I just hope that no infringement of any copyright here on my part. I have seen another version which is the Ang Biblia which is the Filipino version of the King James Bible printed in the Philippine in 1994. However, I prefer this version from Claretians. Why PLDT DSL Internet connection having problems?

Image
This is the question, I asked for several times for almost three weeks while speaking with their representative or technical assistance or simply the assigned call center agent of which have no knowledge at all of the problem being encountered. Well, I am not really sure if this is an isolated event or people using the broadband cannot spot the difference of slow connection or no connection at all, because you might think that you are still online and appear that the screen is slowly loading but in reality has no connection at all. Practically, I am already tired of calling the repair hotline because the  call center agent will only let you repeat the  basic procedure of checking if you are physically connected or not. They will tell you the rehearse line that they are assessing the issue. Well, I have not against all that but hey you can see from the history log that this caller is not just calling for the first time. It was been a series of call that span for severa...

Parish Pilgrimage

Image
Visita Iglesia is a Spanish phrase which means visiting churches. The original Filipino Catholic tradition is a Holy Thursday event after the Last Supper celebration wherein the faithful visits the exposed the blessed sacrament in seven chosen churches for veneration until midnight. However, some faithful use also this term in visiting churches aside from the time mentioned above as long as it is within the time of Lenten season. Some church official would like to use term Parish Pilgrimage instead.  Whatever might be the term used, one thing is sure it is a religious activity that the Catholic faithful see as an act of piety that strengthen one's faith. Here is one of the route of the Parish Pilgrimage of the St. Martin de Porres parishioners from Adelina 1, San Pedro, Laguna, Philippines. It includes the map and prayer of the station of the cross.   Lakbay Dasal 2013 by

Medyo natagalan para makagawa ng logo para sa dalawa pang blog na sinimulan kong ayusin ang Catholic Resources at ang   Filipino   Catholic  Bloggers Network .
