First Friday devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a widespread devotion not only to Philippines but to the whole world for Catholics. There are a lot of request for the First Friday Masses. I would like to fill up the needs but I could not find priests to celebrate mass with them. I do not have a parochial vicar, commonly known as assistant parish priest. Priest studing in University of the Philippines coming from Divine Word Congregation and from other countries have classes also during fridays. Presently, I could  celebrate Masses for the two catholic schools of the parish, the Liceo de Bay and Fr. Lipani School and one Mass for the Secondary public school of Masaya and Little People School Incorporated, a private institution. Though, I am proposing to celebrate mass in other school for Friday other than the First Friday have not received a favorable response, they really want the First Friday. As the school year kicks off, the regular first friday devotion of students in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus starts also. This Good Friday, we started the celebration at 12:00 o'clock with the presentation of the parish youth of the 7 last words in form of skits. At 3:00 pm we have the veneration of the Cross. The Cross reminds us of the salvific plan of God who died for our sins as ransom so that salvation may attain through our Lord Jesus Christ. After the veneration of the Cross which ussually last for one hour and a half to two hours, the traditional Good Friday procession starts immediately after, the heat of summer is at its best. Roger during the passion play 2007 or what we call senakulo 2007 Start of the celebration of the Good Friday liturgical celebration. The priest prostrate at the altar of the Lord. Procession during good Friday is well attended by the catholic even by those who are unchurched Veneration of the Cross. As part of the liturgy, today we venerate the Cross, the symbol of our salvation and salvific love of God. My sister with her husband, two sons and our cousin arrived that morning to visit me. We seldom see each other, so they decided to visit me here, since they have not done so since I arrived here in bay. The Youth presented a short passion play for the people for additional reflection on the day of the death of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Eery last tuesday of the month, the lay ministers of the Holy communiom gather together to discuss the readings for sunday. this is to discussed the matters that concrns their work and the coming together to discuss the proclamation of the Word. These are just a portion of the members of the youth who are practicing for the skit on the 7 last words for this coming Good Friday celebration. Most of them are high school students from the various academic institution here in Bay.

Parish youth leaders came to discuss the programs of the youth for the parish. We need to plan the 7 last words for the coming celebration of the Good Friday. They are only given two hours for the said event. Since i am new here, I told them to be patient because I do not know yet the way they do it. They told me that it was also a long time since they have performed it here. It was not been a part of the program before I arrived.
