Tips of Making a Good Confession

I would like to share these tips from OSV Newsweekly  on how to make a good confession not only on this time of advent but for all seasons. Father Steve Schultz, parochial vicar of Our Lady of Angels Church in Woodbridge, Virginia, offers the following tips on going to confession: 1. Prayerfully prepare! It’s considerate to those who are waiting in line behind you, especially if they need to confess before Mass in order to receive. 2. Do this preparation with an examination of conscience. Many different kinds are available. There are ones based on the Ten Commandments; the Virtues; your particular vocation; for adults; for children; etc. Two general questions should lead to specifics: In what ways did I sin? In what way(s) did I fail to do the good I ought to have?  3. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Think about what you’ve made friends with that keeps you from a true friendship with God. We really do Greed? Pride? Selfishness? Being lukewarm? Lust? Fear...

I am tired of people saying that the Internet is trash. I usually respond with the note "well you are not putting anything good at it". We know that the Internet is of a great potential for Evangelization. The Catholic Church is aware of this already but we have to encourage other to share their knowledge through the Internet. Individual catholic relies on the institutional Church to lead on this endeavor, well we are not lag behind on this issue as the Church through the efforts of some dioceses, religious congregations, parishes and catholic bishop conferences of different nations as well as some Enterprises which carries catholic brand. However, this is not enough, individual must also share the faith received through the use of internet of which today is easily available though the internet providers are sometimes are too slow. Catechetical Day 2014

Diocesan Catechetical Day is a yearly celebration in fostering and strengthening of the evangelical ministry of proclaiming the Good News of man's salvation. It is also the only time that all catechists of the diocese meet, listen to the Word of God, pray and commune together as a unit. This year's team tie up with the national celebration of the year of the laity's Choose to be Brave, Called to be Saints, Sent as Heroes slogan, the catechetical day all over the Philippines have the Theme, Katekista, Banal at Bayani, Ikaw na! To be holy requires heroism. Holiness is not an easy task.
