GOSPEL REFLECTION: Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time (A) 16th November 2014 by Rev. Fr. Allen Baclor Abadines   * GOSPEL: Matthew 25:14-30 Jesus spoke this parable to his disciples: "For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and entrusted his property to them; to one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. The one who had received the five talents went off at once and traded with them, and made five more talents. In the same way, the one who had the two talents made two more talents. But the one who had received the one talent went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money. After a long time, the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. Prayer for Our Priests

Image
Prayer for Our Priests Heavenly Father, I come to pray to you for our priests: our priests working in parishes or residence of retired people, our priests teaching at the seminary or at the university, our priests working in the diocesan offices, our priests in foreign missions, our religious priests. Heavenly Father, I glorify your holy name, I praise you, I thank you for these men whom you have given us as spiritual leaders, these men responsible for our Christian communities, our parish activities. Heavenly Father, I know that, just like us, they have their questions, their doubts, their hesitations. They say before their ordination and again after it: "Do I really have this vocation?" "Am I truly at the right place?" "Will I be able to preach, for I am shy?" "Shall I be able to pray my divine office with the load of activities?" "Am I not following a human ambition?" Be with them, Father, support them, giv...

Mother Teresa’s Prayer for Priests

Image
Mother Teresa’s Prayer for Priests Mary, Mother of Jesus, throw your mantle of purity over our priests. Protect them, guide them, and keep them in your heart. Be a Mother to them, especially in times of discouragement and loneliness. Love them, and keep them belonging completely to Jesus. Like Jesus, they too are your sons, so keep their hearts pure and virginal. Keep their minds filled with Jesus, and put Jesus always on their lips, so that He is the One they offer to sinners and to all they meet. Mary, Mother of Jesus, be their Mother, loving them and bringing them joy. Take special care of sick and dying priests and the ones most tempted. Remember how they spent their youth and old age, their entire lives serving and giving all to Jesus. Mary, bless them and keep a special place for them in your heart. Give them a piece of your heart, so beautiful and pure and immaculate, so full of love and humility, so that they too can grow in the likeness of Christ. Mary, make them humble li...
