Today's front news announces the closing of Intel corporation in the Philippines. Its plant is situated in General Trias, Cavite, Philippines. Intel is one of the biggest microchip manufacturer and contribute also to the Philippine exports. It is the first American company that arrived in the Philippines and the first semi-conductor firm that was been in the country. On this closure, about one thousand eight hundred (1,800) Filipino employees will be affected. Yes, they will be compensated with their length of service and hoping to be rehire by the company subsidiary Numonyx. Today, we celebrates the Feast of St. Joseph, husband of Mary, and the protector of the Holy family. The feats of St. Joseph is being celebrated in the Church Calendar twice. Th other one is every March 19 as the protector of the Church and model of a good father. Today, we reflect more on his being a carpenter, a worker, someone who have been an exemplar of a good laborer and the champion of the causes of labor. Of course, there is no such thing as labor issues of today during the time of St. Joseph. However, we look on St. Joseph as the one who could be an image of which the rights of laborer could be protected.One of the most powerful description of this man is a " just man ". Bills of Materials After the Morning mass, I asked Michael de Guzman, the parish architect, to draw me the plan and bills of materials for the Roof of the multi-purpose hall. We are undergoing construction of the multi purpose hall which started more than a year ago and still unfinished. We rely on the generosity of the faithful to finished this project. Personally, there are two reasons for the said project. There is a need for the place for meetings, seminars and other functions. Second to bring up and enliven the Christian the spirit of the people that we could aim for higher things for the good of the community and of the parish. The parish is one of the oldest parishes of the diocese. We have only 27,000 population though we have celebrated 402 years of Christianity.
