Picardal, CSsR, STD The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines has declared 2017 as the Year of the Parish as Communion of Communities. The CBCP pastoral exhortation “On Era of New Evangelization” describes the focus of this year: “This is a year when we more deeply discern not only the structures of governance of our dioceses and parishes but also of the quality of faith life in the parish, the      fellowship, belongingness, and participation by its members. In a special way we shall probe into our efforts of making the parish a communion of communities,      a communion of Basic Ecclesial Communities and of covenanted faith-communities and ecclesial movements. Prex is an acronym for Parish Renewal Experience. A movement in the parish hoping to enliven the faith of the faithful for a more fruitful relationship with the Lord and the more active participation to the parish church activities. The movement had suffered some setbacks and one of them was the discontinuation of the said program for a period of four (5) years. When I arrives they sought my audience and presented that they want to revive the movement. I told them it is very hard to revive it that to start a new organization. Since they believe on the fruits of the prex class beforehand. they insisted that it will be beneficial for the parish. This is their second class since it was been revived.
