As the school years has already begun and the school classes normalizes, we also tried to bring spiritual assistance to the students and teacher by having the Holy Spirit Mass. Asking God for His continual protection and care as well as guidance so that we might be wise enough to use the gift of intelligence. Yesterday, along with the catechists of the parish, we celebrated the Holy Mass in the Adelina 1 Elementary School students and teachers. As the Gospel of the day suggests (MT 9:1-8) we pray to get rid of the evil spirit in this world. Christ himself have taught us the power of prayer and the power of prayer of the humble ones like the little children. Teaching children about our faith is a tough one, all catechist and parents experience that difficulty. Yet, we have to remind ourselves that it is a part of our duty to get rid of the evil spirit comes first from the conversion of the heart on the belief that only through the power of our Lord Jesus Christ we can drive evil ...

San Barakiel

Image

Sto. Niño feast is for parents too—CBCP official

MANILA, Jan. 15, 2012—The Feast of the Señor Sto. Niño usually brings to fore the role of children in the life of the Church. But according to a Church official, the feast of the Holy Child Jesus also highlights the responsibility of parents to seriously shape their children’s spirituality. Citing the story of Jesus when he was lost in the temple, Fr. Conegundo Garganta said the Holy Child’s ability to speak and converse with the elders at the age of 12 signifies the successful rearing of Mary and Joseph of the Son of God. “At an early age, Jesus made himself fully aware of the true plan of God for him. He was sitting with the elders doing his ministry very early,” he said. “He wouldn’t be filled with that much wisdom if not for the rearing of his parents, Mary and Joseph. This is why the feast of Sto. Niño also highlights parents’ role in shaping their children’s spirituality,” he added. Garganta, the executive secretary of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Youth, nevertheless ur...

Parent's Prayer

Image
Parent's Prayer Grant us, O Lord Jesus, to imitate faithfully the example of your Holy Family and to make our home another Nazareth. May peace, love and happiness prevail. Grant us the grace to be the parents  we should be for our children. Grant that our child may find solid support  for their human dignity  and for their growth in truth and love  within the embrace of our home. When the time comes for each of us  to go to the everlasting home you have prepared for us, may your glorious Mother and St. Joseph take us to you, after the final grace of a happy death. _____ Filipino
