Image
GOSPEL REFLECTION: 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time (B) Sunday, 12th July 2015 by Rev. Fr. Allen Baclor Abadines   * READINGS: First Reading: Amos 7:12-15 Responsorial Psalm: Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation. Second Reading: Ephesians 1:3-14 * GOSPEL: Mark 6:7-13 Jesus called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. He ordered them to take nothing for their journey except a staff; no bread, no bag, no money in their belts; but to wear sandals and not to put on two tunics. Jesus said to them, "Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave the place. If any place will not welcome you and they refuse to hear you, as you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them." So the twelve went out and proclaimed that all should repent. They cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them. * ...

Accident and Annointing of the Sick

Image
This morning, we went to paete to inquire on the images of the three kings and other images of the Belen or the Nativity set of our Lord Jesus Christ because the parish does not have a complete set, we only had the holy family. On our way, when we reach Sta. Cruz Laguna, I noticed a motorcycle  in the middle of the  left side of the road/ When I slowed down, I saw a man lying down so I stop the car and immediately told my companions to get the sick call kit. The Man is gushing with blood. I pulsed him and there  is nothing I could felt. I administered the anointing of the sick immediately. I told the passerby to fetch the nearest police station in the vicinity. The conductor of the bus that ahead of us is telling me that the motorcycle slipped and it slammed in the Bus. Here are some pictures. I advise you that this can be graphic. For those who are not familiar with the sight of blood, beware! Whoever he may be may God grant him eternal rest, Amen. ...

Solemnity of Christ the King (A)

Image
GOSPEL REFLECTION: Solemnity of Christ the King (A) 23rd November 2014 by Rev. Fr. Allen Baclor Abadines  * GOSPEL: Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus said to his disciples: "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the Angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will put the sheep at his right hand and the goats at the left. "Then the King will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when was it that ...

Prayer asking the Intercession of St. Martin de Porres

Image
O God, Who has given us In Your humble Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, The model of all virtue And perfection, Grant to us The virtue of humility. We think so little of You Because we are So full of ourselves. We cannot love You more Until humility shows us Our own nothingness And makes us rejoice In our complete Dependence upon You. You have given to the world a glorious apostle of humility: St. Martin de Porres. Guide us by his example And strengthen Us through his intercession In our efforts To conform our hearts To the humble Heart Of Your crucified Son. May the glory of sainthood Which you have Deigned to bestow Upon Brother Martin Draw the world closer And closer to You. Renew, O Lord, in these days When pride and forgetfulness Of You are so widespread, The wonders which You performed Through Your humble servant During his lifetime. Through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be (3 times each.)

How Does The Catholic Church Celebrate Holy Thursday?

Image
HOW DOES THE CHURCH CELEBRATE HOLY THURSDAY? On Holy Thursday the Catholic Church remembers the first Mass ever celebrated: the Last Supper. With it begins Easter Triduum, three days that celebrate the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. In the morning Chrism Mass is celebrated and it's usually presided over in a cathedral by the bishop of each diocese. It's called Chrism because of the oils that are blessed and used throughout the year in the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Orders and Anointing of the Sick. On the evening of Holy Thursday, the Eucharist and priesthood are both celebrated. In this ceremony, a priest washes the feet of several people in remembrance of the act performed by Jesus with the 12 apostles. After this Mass, the Blessed Sacrament is reserved in a prepared location for the day called 'monument'. In some countries there is a tradition of making turns praying all night to be by the side of Jesus on the eve of his death. ...

Mother Teresa’s Prayer for Priests

Image
Mother Teresa’s Prayer for Priests Mary, Mother of Jesus, throw your mantle of purity over our priests. Protect them, guide them, and keep them in your heart. Be a Mother to them, especially in times of discouragement and loneliness. Love them, and keep them belonging completely to Jesus. Like Jesus, they too are your sons, so keep their hearts pure and virginal. Keep their minds filled with Jesus, and put Jesus always on their lips, so that He is the One they offer to sinners and to all they meet. Mary, Mother of Jesus, be their Mother, loving them and bringing them joy. Take special care of sick and dying priests and the ones most tempted. Remember how they spent their youth and old age, their entire lives serving and giving all to Jesus. Mary, bless them and keep a special place for them in your heart. Give them a piece of your heart, so beautiful and pure and immaculate, so full of love and humility, so that they too can grow in the likeness of Christ. Mary, make them humble li...
