+Lourdes Masanga Marfori

Yesterday afternoon, the mother of Rev. Fr. Deng Marfori, Lourdes Masanga Marfori has returned to our Creator at the age of 90. Her remains can be viewed and be visited at stae in the mortuary of Nuestra SeƱora delos Remedios Parish, Del Remedio, San Pablo City. Funeral mass will be on March 8, Wednesday, 8 am, In San Isidro Parish Church, Calauan, Laguna. Please remember her in your prayers and masses. ri

Verminculture

After watching the episode of vermin culture or worm culture, I decide to visit the CRTD (Center for Rural Rechnological Development, one of the agencies of the Philippine Bussiness for Social Progress) located at the neighboring town, Calauan, Laguna, Philippines). The first time, I heard of it was when I was a new priest, when someone invited me to hear confession for a group of youth. It was later on through my cousin, Salvacion Torreflores, I learned that it is also used for training on a lot of matters including the information dissimination of the vermin culture. After my morning mass, I asked somebody to drive me to the said place. There, I learned a lot of things about worms. However, I was not been able to bring with me my camera, I was not been able to take some pictures. I also bought a Kilo of Vermins for 800 pesos, I was informed that it is about 150 pieces of worms. Resettlement!

D uring our vicarial meeting last wednesday, Father noel Conopio, the Apostolic Vicar of the second district have brought out the issue and problem of the resettlement in his area. Calauan was been a place for resettlement for about 250 families from different parts of Metro Manila and neighboring provinces and towns.Now, Malacanang is bringging another 36 families with an assurance of several batches that will be coming from the places affected by the operation of the Metro Manila Development Authority. We all agree that this is the work of the National and Local Government but people are coming up asking for help. And the Church is encountering problems concerning these matter withstanding that almost thousand families were relocated in Cabuyao, Laguna recently. Fr. Fr. Manny's Father

Fr. Manny Marfori's father died and we came to visit at San Pablo cathedral mortuary.The Parish of San Isidro in Calaun has no mortuary. Fr. Manny has to go back here in the Philippines though he is studying abroad because of the health situation of his father. His father passed away with his family at his bedside.

Sick Call

Right after I arrived at the convent, some people are already waiting for me to fetch me for the anointing of the sick, the place is called "hagganan" because it is within the boundary of Calauan and Bay, part of the brgy. Dila. The Son of the sick old lady is also the parish pastoral president of the Our Lady of Remedy Parish, wawa/del Remedio, San Pablo City.

Mass for Gloria

With Rev. Fr. Romy Ponte and Rev. Fr. Emil Urriquia, clelebrated the Mass for the repose of Gloria in her residence in Halang, Calamba, Laguna. All were former parish priests of Holy Trinity Parish, Pansol, Calamba, Laguna. Gloria died while sharing in their catechist's annual retreat in Calauan, Laguna last february 13. It sahould be noted that Gloria, sis Glo as most of us call here died a happy death with clean heart. She confessed the night before she died. She died fulfilling the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, serving the church in proclaiming the Gospel. Gloria was married to Bro. Ed Gomez who is also a lay worker as a Lay minister in the Holy Trinity Parish. They have three children.

Comissioning of new Lay Minister of Holy Communion

One of the fruits of the Vicarial meeting is the conception and the execution of training new ministers of Holy Communion for the member parishes of the Vicariate. It is an answer for the need of the parishes for an effective management of the parochial activities and liturgical celebrations. The training started 5 weeks ago. The venue chosen because of the availability of the place is the parish of the St. Therese, U.P. Los Banos, Laguna. The total number of lay who started training was 21 and all have been diligent enough to undergo the said training for the period of 5 weeks. Five of them belongs to the Parish of St. Augustine Blogs commenting Fr. Jessie's post
