Msgr. Elias Poblete has come back to his Creator

Msgr. Elias Poblete passed away this early morning. Today his remains lies in the rectory of St. John the Baptist Parish, Calamba, Laguna. His remains will be brought to the San Pablo Cathedral on Monday. A concelebrated Mass with the San Pablo clergy will be held at 1 o'clock before it will be transfered to St. Peter's College Seminary in Pablo city for the rest of the wake. 12 Pilgrims Killed in Tourist Bus accident

Early this morning, right after my 6:30 Mass, a text coming from the secretary of the diocese informing me to include in the intention of all the Masses for the soul of 12 parishioners of the Chair of St. Peter Parish of Balibago, Sta. Rosa, Laguna who were killed in the bus accident after they visited the churches of Baguio. Prayer also for the early recovery of the wounded. Here is the news report of the Abs-Cbn. BAGUIO CITY, Philippines - Eleven people were killed and at least 25 others were injured when a tourist bus rammed into a tree in Pugo, La Union Saturday afternoon. Out of the 11 fatalities, 8 were killed instantly in the accident that took place at around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. One of them was even decapitated. Three others died while undergoing treatment at the Baguio General Hospital. Authorities are still confirming the identities of the fatalities, most of whom did not have identification cards.
