Church's Campaign Against Death Penalty

It is known to everybody that the last time the congress voted for the re-institution of the death penalty in the lower house, the pro death penalty claim a large margin of victory. Only a handful, a fourth of the total number of votes casts have stand the ground. The 54 men and women of the members of the lower house who stick to the dictates of their conscience even on the fear and intimidation and even losing the key positions of the committees and even funding from pork barrel. One of the salient points in the discussion within the Presbyteral council of the Diocese of San Pablo is Have we done enough in the campaign against death penalty? Are we been deceived? or Have we deceived ourselves that what we have done is enough. or it is really an uphill battle because of the surrounding circumstances of which doctrinal formation is one of them. Priest shot dead in Cebu, robbery hold-up eyed

( A repost from CBCPNews) MANILA, July 7, 2009—Cebu Archbishop Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal called on the Cebuano faithful not only to pray but do acts of reparation for the desecration of a priest, Fr. Jovencio Rabusa, 46 years old, who was shot dead by two still unidentified persons last night. Msgr. Achilles Dakay, spokesman of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Cebu, said Fr. Rabusa was on his way to his sister’s house on South Coastal Property road in Cansolong, Talisay City when two persons accosted him at about 8:00 P.M. Monday. Interviewed by CBCPNews, Msgr. Dakay said the culprits took the victim’s two cellphones but left his wallet behind. He said the victim was walking to his sister’s house when the hold-up took place. Quoting a young witness, Msgr. Priests of the diocese have a monthly assembly in the the bishops residence. The mainspeaker who was supposed to talk about the proper care of the heart in medical perspective did not come, the reason, I failed to hear the reason presented in the meeting. Msgr. Alex Amante presided the reflection during the holy hour which speaks about discipleship and apostleship. It is imperative to acknowledge the importance of being with Jesus Christ before becoming one's disciples.It is he who calls and he has the power and liberty to whom he choses. We have to accept that invitation and to be commune with him and our brothers before being sent off to preach the Good News of God's salvific love. Meeting of Episcopal District II

One of the topic discussed in our vicariate meeting is to hold a meeting for the episcopal district of the Diocese of San Pablo because of some question of which we believe is not only of concern of the vicariate but also of the other vicariate within the episcopal district II. Fr. Marvi who is the episcopal district vicar is one of the priest of the vicariate. Here is the content of the meeting in video we have discussed not all matters that we have discussed was been filmed because, my camera was run out of battery. This post was been quite late as of the date because of transfering files from the video cam to computer could somehow tedious and requires a lot of time. Aside from the things that were discussed in the Video, there is a work assigned to me as one of the vicariate vicar of the said episcopal district as well as the one in-charge with the lay minister of the parish.
