GOSPEL REFLECTION 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year B) Sunday, 28th June 2015 by Rev. Fr. Allen Baclor Abadines  *  READINGS: First Reading: Wisdom 1:13-15;2;23-24 Responsorial Psalm: "I will extol you, Lord, for you have raised me up. 20th Year Anniversary

Image
On the occasion of the 24th Sunday of the ordinary time, yesterday the fifteenth day of September, I celebrated my sacerdotal anniversary for the 20th year. I thank god for all these years that he make me an instrument of his mercy and forgiveness. Like any other, I not worthy of this great gift of which God has bestowed   on me but since the almighty has made me worthy, I will try my best to make use of it. Usually I spent my anniversary in prayer and in silent reflection. This Sunday my sisters, my brothers in law, niece, cousin and some friends fro Sta. Maria, Laguna, visited me for lunch. I also thank people who became part of my life in my ministry who in some way or another have helped me and inspired me to become more a loving person. I thank my present parishioners of the parish of St. Martin de Porres who have traveled with me for this past eighth months.

Prayer for Priests 3

Prayer for Priests Lord Jesus, you have chosen your priests from among us and sent them out to proclaim your word and to act in your name. For so great a gift to your Church, we give you praise and thanksgiving. We ask you to fill them with the fire of your love, that their ministry may reveal your presence in the Church. Since they are earthen vessels, we pray that your power shine out through their weakness. In their afflictions let them never be crushed; in their doubts never despair; in temptation never be destroyed; in persecution never abandoned. Inspire them through prayer to live each day the mystery of your dying and rising. In time of weakness send them your Spirit, and help them to praise your heavenly Father and pray for poor sinners. By the same Holy Spirit, put your word on their lips and your love in their hearts, to bring Good News to the poor and healing to the brokenhearted. And may the gift of Mary, your mother, to the disciple whom you loved, be your gift to ever...
