Solo Parents Welfare Act, have you heard of it? Thanks to Ms. Zena Bernardo who was been active for a long period of time for the  welfare of the Solo parents that has become a part of the law of the country even on the Year 2000 signed by then President Joseph Ejercito Estrada.. It was been a long time since I heard from Zena this before but I was been alarmed when she posted on Facebook on a propose activity for Teen Solo Parents. It has struck me that, hey there is also a part of our society that we must also see and take care of. Primarily it let me pause for a moment to ask these questions: Is there any solo parent in my parish? How many are they? What are the age bracket? How could you categorized the teen solo parent?. Last Wednesday, August 12, 2015, The Department of Justice and the Department of Science and Technology finalized and published the approved implementing rules and regulations after more than three years after it was signed into a law by the President Benigno Aguino III and after a year and a half the Supreme Court upheld its constitutionality. It took a long shot before this implementing rules and regulations are approved. Surely, it has been thought thoroughly. The Catholic Church has lost the war on Reproductive Health (RH) Law today in the Philippine situation. The Supreme Court  had ruled out that the RH law is constitutional except some provisions that were struck out. Most of the provisions were struck down  concern more on religious liberty rather than on the protection of life nor on the artificial birth control. Personally, I am not surprise of the outcome of the decision due to the fact that we have have really failed to educate the faithful concerning this matter. We could no longer do anything about the past, we have to open a new chapter in our quest of protecting life and to create a more effective program for family and life ministry. MANILA, Feb. 23, 2012— A Catholic bishop advised students not to join fraternities and sororities especially those with dangerous initiations. Bishop Deogracias Iñiguez of Caloocan said the recent death of San Beda law student Marvin Reglos from an alleged hazing incident showed risks in joining fraternities. He acknowledged that maybe not all initiations are dangerous, but stressed that enough have already been publicized to let the public know many are not safe. “If an organization has things like hazing, (students) should avoid it,” Iñiguez told Manila archdiocese-run Radyo Veritas. “We are also appealing to the youth to carefully examine organizations that they want to be with,” added the head of the Committee on Public Affairs of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippine. I am not a canon lawyer, however, I am impelled to create new blog that deals with the twechnical terms on this subject matter so that people especially the catholic faithful may understand and adhere the law of the Church. This is the introcution I have posted in the blogsite: Many have tried to post canon law materials in the internet, some have been successful but a lot have have not progress in continuing their post. If there is enough matials in the internet and can easily be accessible, I will not try to make one like this.
