MANILA, March 8, 2012—Amid calls for debates after the Manila Archbishop opened renewed opportunities for dialogue on the reproductive health (RH) bill, the newly appointed leader of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) reiterated that the stand of the Church remains the same. “If the RH proponents expect that we in the new administration, because we are new, would be amenable to changes, it is a no,” CBCP President Archbishop Jose Palma said. “Their presumption may be like if there is a new admin they think there can be a new policy, have new doctrines and approaches. This is not the case in the Church.
