“In a world of expanding barns, we are invited to become rich toward God.” Today is Monday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time. Armine Isles Borja just visited me to ask prayer for his travel tomorrow going to Saudi Arabia tomorrow. He is leaving his work here as well as his wife and two children to look for a greener pasture. Since he could find more money there abroad more than what he is earning here in the Philippines. The Church believes that is more beneficial for the family to stay together here in the Philippines but financial opportunities could not be found. The Church provides prayer and support group for those leaving the country. the parish in particular will be affected by Amine's leaving the country as he holds the leadership of the music ministry. We pray that his time for leaving his family for work will be more profitable and may strengthen the faith of his family. One Million March, Philippine Style, A new people power?

Image
Much was been said in different venues by all walks of people concerning the 10 billions scam that has scandalized the Filipino people here in the Philippines and abroad. A Facebook post that invites everyone to protest the said indignation against the Philippine Development Assistance Package (PDAP) commonly known as Pork Barrel. An allocation given to Congressman and Senators to disposed to their constituents to help alleviate poverty. This March has only three Agenda: 1. To stop not to suspend the distribution of the said Pork Barrel. 2. To investigate all those who are responsible 3. To persecute those who are guilty according to the fullest extent of the law.  How will this invitation translate to the real situation. Be ready on August 26, 2013. This is the day that will mark another history to the Filipino nation or simply a wishful thinking that will remain a dream. Let us pray that the Lord Almighty may guide us a nation towards maturity.
