Kumpisalang Bayan

Image
Somebody is asking to add description to this event, this event was posted in my account in Facebook. I could not tract the one asking it, just flash in my screen as a part of the notification. I though before that there is no need to do so because it is already a part of the Lenten preparation. However, we should also go to the basic reminding ourselves that there are those who are not well verse to our natural flow of Christian devotion during the 40 days of preparation for the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Chris . Kumpisalang Bayan is what we commonly named the event where Confession is held in the parish through the help of the neighboring priests of the nearby parishes of religious institutions. this is to help the parish cope with the massive attendance of those who would like to receive the sacrament of reconciliation that we usually announced during the Lenten and Advent liturgical time.. This is not to substitute the regular time for parish confession schedules. We...

CANCER SUPPORT PROGRAM

Image
Below is the concept of the program for the Cancer group of the Parish of Saint Martin de Porres, discussed and prepared by the group. This is a propose group that will try to cater to the cancer patients within the parish. The endeavor started to progress because it is also a part of the apostolate to the sick as the patron saint St. Martin de Porres have tried to address. Well, there is no cancer patients then during his time. However, this is a group that almost of the sectors of the present society have tried to address. Yesterday, I saw a tarpaulin of one Baranggay calling for a breast cancer individuals for a seminar. I forgot the date, So, i ask the help of Sis. Luz Abuzo who acts as the president of the cancer group of the parish to investigate and if I am not mistaken that the seminar was held today to attend it hoping to see how to conduct such seminar and to observe intelligently. One of the program we encountered are the statistics or rather to look for the patien...

Raise 35 Million Pesos in 4 Months.

Image
I could not believe what I saw, so I retrace my steps and read the tarpaulin that reads "Raise 35 Million Pesos in 4 Months."  Well, it is a parish in the rich parish Alabang. However, it has raise some issues on my head. The parish might really be too rich to raise such amount, 35M divided 4, that is 8.75 million every month and 291,666.66 everyday.I just hope and pray that I could have that charism or any of my Parish Pastoral or Parish Financial Council. For the moment the parish is on the 4th month on raising for the flooring of the Parish Church because it needs rehabilitations, the tiles are already broken. Not all of them but many of them are. our expected amount to be raised  costs only an amount of 700 tiles that is priced as 500 per tiles. That is only 350,000.00 pesos that is just a fraction of a day counterpart of the Alabang parish. So far, we just raised a fourth of the amount so far. Well, anything is on God's hands. We are just doing we can. we ca...

This morning while hearing confessions to the stu, dents of one of the Catholic Schools here in San Pedro City in the province of Laguna, I received a text coming from the secretary of the Bishop of the Diocese of San Pablo, Rev. Twenty Four Pesos

Image
I am really thankful to God for making Yesterday celebration of the Feast Day of Saint Martin de Porres here in Adelina 1, San Pedro, laguna. I will upload the pictures later as the internet connections are too week. After the Presbyteral meeting this morning in Bishop's Residence, I was glad to see the price of gasoline went down to 24.00 pesos in Shell gas stations. Different gas station charge you differently even of the same brand or carriers. So far this one in Alaminos, Laguna is the cheapest I have seen ever. I was not able to take pictures from other Shell gasoline station. Though, i have already that in mind. Somehow our mind play tricks on us make us think that we have done already what we though we will do but it is still something in the mind and time pass by thinking we have already done it and the opportunity already flies with the time and occasion. going back to diesel price, this is the lowest ever I have seen in Shell station during the presidency of Benig...

Image
We cannot access web browsers through our phones and devices and not all sites are accessible through gadgets. Not all sites are ready to be accessed through phones and gadgets, it was good that blogger.com is equipped to let your blog accessed by the smartphone devices minus the sidebars, Aside from United States Catholic Bishop's Conference website . I have found out one of the application that can be accessed is the Daily Readings of the celebration of the Mass. Simple but elegant. If you just simply want to read the readings of the day, this will suit you. It includes the saint of the day.

Saint Rose of Lima

Image
It was commonly believed that Saint Martin de Porres and St. Rose of Lima are contemporary but I could not have a reference if they have personally met. However, there is a page that say that the only spiritual support that Saint Rose received comes from St. Martin de Porres that can be found here . St Martin de Porres - 1579 - 1639 St Rose of Lima - 1586-1617 Born as Isabel Flores y de Oliva (20 April, 1586-30 August, 1617) from a Spanish colonial family in Lima, Peru, was nicknamed “Rose” from an incident in her childhood. Rose was the seventh of eleven children born to Oliva and Gaspar Flores. She wanted to be a nun, but instead entered the Dominican Third Order while living in her parents’ home. At twenty she took a vow of perpetual virginity. For eleven years she lived an ascetical life of prayer and died at the age of 31. She was the first person born in the Americas to be canonized. What St. Rose of Lima attracted to me is her way to do penance without attracting att...

Vineyard

Image
Yesterday, August 19,I was Invited to celebrate the Novena Mass in my former parish, St. Augustine Parish, Bay, Laguna. It was around 5:30 for the celebration of the Eucharist with the theme, "My heart is restless until it rest on you my God." The Homily revolves around Jesus whom constantly invites us to come to him who are burdensome and needs rest. It is only trough our Lord Jesus Christ that we can find peace in our hearts. First, for four weeks, Christ is inviting us to receive Him, the bread the comes from heaven, the food that will give life and life eternal. Second, Jesus asks us to enter His vineyard and work in His vineyard as today's Gospel speaks of. This vineyard is the Church of which the Lord is hiring people for work for the growth of His kingdom here in Earth. However, one note to note also is that it is great to visit again the previous parish and get reconnected with the people whom been a part of your life during the six years assignment period. ...
