Image
The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting as one of the arm of the COMELEC to ensure an honest and clean election and help the voters and the faithful to participate actively on the coming 2016 election is asking everyone to register so that you can vote. If you are already registered but has not been able to give your biometrics please go to the COMELEC office in your municipality to give your biometrics. Here is the list of the names who does not have biometrics in the city of San Pedro alone here in the province of Laguna which is numbered to 13,327 as of today. That is a lot of vote to be counted. If you would like to check if your name is on the list of those who have no biometrics kindly click here.  Search the province and the municipality or city. I would like to put the list of the San Pedro municipality here but the site would not allow me maybe because of the bulk of the list

Doctors of the Roman Catholic Church

Image
As we celebrates today the feast of Saint Lawrence of Brindisi known also as one of the Doctors of the Roman Catholic Church, it comes to my mind that i have posted before the list of the doctors proclaimed by the church but could not find it. I am writing this to list the 36 doctors of the church as of this time. They are called doctors of the church because their writings and preaching have been useful to the church and the faithful for a deepening of the faith in our God. This includes the name, duration of their lifetime, designated by whose Pope, as well as the year it was promulgated and the title given to each individual. There are 32 men and 4 women. The latest of them given the title is St. Gregory of Narek designated by the present Pope Francis. 1. St. Albert The Great - 1206 - 1280 - December 16, 1931 by Pius XI - Doctor of Science 2 St. Alphonsus Liguori1696 - 1787 - July 7, 1871 by Pius IX - Morality and Marian Doctor 3 St. Ambrose - 339-3...

Saint Apollinaris

Image
Saint Apollinaris is a native of Antioch in a Roman Province of Syria during his time. According to tradition , he was ordained himself by St. Peter, the Apostle and became the first bishop of Ravenna. People was drawn through his preaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and  miracles he performed. He tried to protect his people from persecutions against the pagans and died on the process. His date of death is unknown. His feast is celebrated on July 22 during the Tridentine period, In 1969, he feast was removed from the General Roman Calendar to give way to the feast of St. Bridget of Sweden but his name was not removed from the list of Roman Martyrology. There are many proclaimed saints that are not included to the General Roman Calendar but can still be celebrated in the local churches they are known and venerated. His Memorial was restored in 2002 in the Roman Missal edition on the date nearest to July 22 with no other existing celebration which is July 20.
