Beware of Bogus Priests.

Image
Post by Jessie Somosierra . Just this morning I received a text from an employee of one of the twenty six towns of the province of Laguna asking me if I have any knowledge of a certain Msgr. George Palma from the Diocese of Caceres assigned in one of the parishes or one of the Catholic institution there. They are asking me because the said Monsignori is gathering information on the name of the chief of police and of the Baranggay captain with their contact numbers and planning to come on Sunday. Well, this priest must have enough time coming there from Caceres on a Sunday.  I have searched the internet and the Directory of the Catholic Parishes of the Philippines Island and come out empty handed. I texted back with the result and with a warning that the person impersonating as a catholic priest may be one of those no longer in active service, an Aglipayan or a fake one. First Friday devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a widespread devotion not only to Philippines but to the whole world for Catholics. There are a lot of request for the First Friday Masses. I would like to fill up the needs but I could not find priests to celebrate mass with them. I do not have a parochial vicar, commonly known as assistant parish priest. Priest studing in University of the Philippines coming from Divine Word Congregation and from other countries have classes also during fridays. Presently, I could  celebrate Masses for the two catholic schools of the parish, the Liceo de Bay and Fr. Lipani School and one Mass for the Secondary public school of Masaya and Little People School Incorporated, a private institution. Though, I am proposing to celebrate mass in other school for Friday other than the First Friday have not received a favorable response, they really want the First Friday. First Friday is taken as a special day for these people but since the scarcity of prie...

Confirmation

Image
A street mass in daang bakal, maitim, bay, laguna was celebrated. they fetched me 25 minutes late. If only I am familiar with the place, I will go there alone. Afterwards, I proceeded to San Antonio parish in San Antonio, Los Banos, Laguna, many parishioners hear their confession. It was past 10:00 oclock when I left without taking anyting to eat because I have a scheduled funeral mass in one of my barrangay. Well, it is the oly time , I am available and there is no priest I could find to say the Mass tomorrow. After the Mass and Confirmation a merienda was served in the Liceo de Bay principal's office. A small conversation exchange between the bishop and the Liceo staff and me. One of the prolem that liceo is encountering today is the number of students because of economic situation of the country, and it seems the government is not helping out.
