For the Philippines as of 2025 — CBCP / Vatican Yearbook data : How many active priests? ∼10,178 priests active nationwide — down from 12,964 in 2016. The CBCP reports the Catholic population grew from 61.6M in 2016 to 73.6M in 2025, while  priests declined from 12,964 to 10,178.  Other reports note about 1 priest per 7,000 parishioners shortage and older counts of 8,700 priests nationwide overworked.  For reference, Catholic-Hierarchy latest tabulation lists 7,335 total (5,037 diocesan + 2,298 religious) but that is pre-2025. The CBCP 10,178 figure is the newest. Diocese example: Imus — 112 diocesan priests for 3.9M Catholics per Vatican Yearbook 2025.  How many are Filipinos vs. foreign? CBCP does not publish a Filipino / foreign split.
