We usually hear from the prayer leader the words "for the intention of the Holy Father", yes there is a particular intention of the Holy Father every month. The apostleship of Prayer member is given a copy of the prayer intentions of the Holy Father for a year. But since not all of us are member of the Apostleship of Prayer, We need to search the intention of the Holy Father. The Zenith is publishing such intentions as well as several catholic bloggers. I will do so starting this month to give the intention of the holy Father.
The Holy Father's universal prayer intention for August is: “That volunteers may give themselves generously to the service of the needy.”
Pope Francis intention for Evangelization is: “That setting aside our very selves we may learn to be neighbors to those who find themselves on the margins of human life and society.”
