Dear Brothers and Sisters, At this Holy Mass our thoughts go back to that moment when, through prayer and the laying on of hands, the bishop made us sharers in the priesthood of Jesus Christ, so that we might be “consecrated in truth” (Jn 17:19), as Jesus besought the Father for us in his high-priestly prayer. He himself is the truth. He has consecrated us, that is to say, handed us over to God for ever, so that we can offer men and women a service that comes from God and leads to him. But does our consecration extend to the daily reality of our lives – do we operate as men of God in fellowship with Jesus Christ? This question places the Lord before us and us before him. “Are you resolved to be more united with the Lord Jesus and more closely conformed to him, denying yourselves and confirming those promises about sacred duties towards Christ’s Church which, prompted by love of him, you willingly and joyfully pledged on the day of your priestly ordination?” After this homily, I sha...

First Reading (Is 42:1-4, 6-7 ) Responsorial Psalm ( Psalm 29:1-2, 3-4, 3, 9-10) Second reading (Acts 10:34-38) Gospel (Mt 3:13-17) Since Christmas, God constantly revealed himself to us and still continually reveals himself. on the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ to the shepherds which represents the Jewish people. December 26, Sunday after Christmas is always feast of the Holy Family (except if Christmas falls on Sunday) is God's manifestation that God reveal himself through a family, salvation through family. Lat Sunday reminds us that the feast of the Epiphany God reveals to the three Magi who represent the Gentile People. And now on the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Jesus reveals himself as the obedient Son. Yes, our God is the God who constantly reveal himself to us so that we can avail of the grace of salvation.He introduces himself so that he might be known and worshiped.
