Constituent Assembly?

House Resolution 1109 is a desperate move of the congress to amend the constitution and as what others have suspected to extend the term of office of those in position.

I have longed to comment on this issue because the resolution was passed last April of this year. It was only now that I have the time to do so.

I have posted here also the copy of the said resolution so that one may really know what the conscitution of the said resolution and the representatives behind it.

Personally, I have no objection that there are certain provisions in the constitution that need revision. I believe most of the Filipinos agree with me. The Congress proposes some changes in the constitution. This is the proposal:

The problem with this resolution is the manner of which the constitution will be changed. The Senate was sidestepped. The Senate is to stripped of its constitunional entity and its members vote is just to be included in the total votes.

I am just wondering if they cannot change the the provision of the constitution one by one through regular session and through regular means as mandated by Law?

I am also taking note of the members of the congress who voted yes for the said constituent assembly and the region they represent. it may guide voters for the coming election whether you will vote for your representative who took part in this inuendo.
